How to exclude files from VirusScan scanning
McAfee Security suites of version 13.6 and higher allow you to select individual files from your computer to exclude from Real-Time Scanning. If the file is an executable (.exe), the read and write files from this process can also be excluded from scanning. This means that the files you specify will not be scanned when they run or when they read from or write to your hard drive.
To exclude known safe files and applications:
- Open your McAfee Security suite.
- Click Real-Time Scanning: On.
- Click Excluded Files.
- Click Add file.
- Browse to, and select, the PingPlayer.exe file from the EngagePHD folder:
C: > EngagePHD > EngagePHD > PingPlayer
PingPlayer.exe should no longer be scanned by the Real-Time Scanner.
