Interactive Applications

Applications allow you to create interactive experience for touchscreens, use of the IR remote, touchless (Bring Your Own Devices), and interrupts.

Touchscreens

When using the Applications module to create touchscreens, it’s important to remember that touchscreen content will be built around your design work that is created outside of the software (i.e. Photoshop, PowerPoint).

IR Remote Applications

One of the fun features about Applications is that it allows you to create an interactive experience even if you do not have a touchscreen enabled player. Applications can be used for Channel Control using your screens IR remote control.

When using the Applications module to create touchscreen, it’s important to remember that touchscreen content will be built around your design work that is created outside of the software (i.e. Photoshop, PowerPoint). Mapping your content, from your backgrounds, buttons, pages, widgets; etc. should be planned out in advance so you have the framework in place before you start building your touchscreen in the software.

Using Applications with an IR Remote

IR Remote Applications

Applications allow you to create an interactive experience even if you do not have a touchscreen enabled player. ​​Applications can be used for Channel Control ​using your screens IR remote control. ​Applications Pages are assigned a ‘remote key’ which allows a user to use the IR remote to jump to a Page to view content. This may be ideal for demonstrations or presentations, where you need to change what’s on the screen quickly.

Note: ​This feature is only supported on Samsung SSP, Tizen, and LG webOS smart displays with an IR Remote.
